Update #166
President of Estonia looks to those aged 7-19 to think it through and share their thoughts with him
Estonian President Alar Karis is inviting those aged 7-19 to think about Estonia in the context of a globalised world, to put pen to paper and to share their thoughts on why the world needs Estonia.
The KESKUS project is one way of bringing more Estonia to North America, what do you think that could that look like? What do you think Estonia and Estonians, regardless of where they live, can offer the rest of the world?
Straight from the desk of the President (in translation):
This year, the President of the Republic invites young people to think about Estonia and share their thoughts with the head of state. Whereas last year young people wrote to President Karis about Estonia's future, concerns and ideals, this year the head of state asks young people to explore the place for Estonia in this open and closely connected globalized world. What role does a small culture play in today's interconnected world? What are its advantages and why is it important to make space for, and to listen to small countries? What value does Estonia offer to the rest of the world?
What will happen to your submission?
The Office of the President of the Republic of Estonia will publish a selection of the submissions, and here's hoping that contributions by youth of Estonian heritage outside of Estonia will be included in that selection!
