A Home for Estonians Around the World

Funds raised in the Tere, KESKUS campaign will go to build a 33,000 sq. ft. world-class, state-of-the-art home for Estonians around the world. The $31 million centre will bring prominence to Estonia and facilitate business and entrepreneurial opportunities between Estonia and North America. KESKUS was designed by three-time Governor General award-winning Estonian-Canadian architect Alar Kongats.

Former President Toomas Hendrik Ilves is Honourary Chair of the KESKUS International Estonian Centre Capital Campaign: “The new International Estonian Centre will inspire and be a source of pride for Estonia’s largest diaspora community, and a home away from home for those with Estonian roots across North America and beyond. This is the biggest project that our Estonian diaspora has undertaken in over 50 years. The Centre envisions a flagship building that showcases our culture and heritage and facilitates entrepreneurial and business opportunities with Estonia while also providing a space for the programming of the local vibrant community. ”

Support for KESKUS has already come from France, UK, Estonia and across Canada and the United States. KESKUS is slated to open in 2022. View the KESKUS three-minute virtual tour here.

Campaign Donations Matched to Have 4X Impact

KESKUS is currently at 75% of its overall campaign goal. From June 21-24th, all new donations will be matched to have a 4X effect, up to $1 million thanks to the generous support of the Estonian-Canadian Torokvei family. This means that your gift can have a 4X impact!
